Handle appeals

Employers should consult with us before issuing any determination to a member to ensure that the proposed determination is in accordance with the regulations.

The LGPS regulations offer members access to a two stage appeals process known as the Internal Disputes Resolution Procedure (IDRP). Guidance on this procedure can be found here: IDRP employer guidance (PDF, 177 KB)

Our preferred approach is for employers to draft their determination and to send it to the Appointed Person.
