We developed our first corporate governance strategy in 1995 and our first socially responsible investment strategy in 2000.
We have been signatories to the UN Principles for Responsible (PRI) since 2008.
Our traditional approach to Responsible Investment has been top-down - ensuring that Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) concerns in our portfolios are recognised and addressed.
Alongside this we are rapidly developing a bottom-up approach where we have a preference for new investments with positive ESG criteria (alongside sound financial fundamentals).
We are implementing this approach through our growing Direct Impact Portfolio.
We are a signatory to the UK Stewardship Code and publish an annual UK Stewardship Code Report
