What can I do with my deferred benefits?

Accessing your benefits:

While your benefits are deferred, they will be adjusted for inflation.

You can take your benefits from age 55. You must take all of your benefits at the same time.

To view your potential benefits for retirement, login into your SPFOnline account and use the retirement benefit projector.

Your benefits can remain in the scheme and become payable unreduced at your Normal Pension Age however, your benefits must be paid by age 75.

Transferring your benefits:

You can transfer your benefits to another pension arrangement as long as the transfer is completed at least 12 months prior to your Normal Pension Age.

Ill Health?

Your benefits could be paid in full if you are permanently incapable of doing the job you were working in when you left the LGPS and you are unlikely to be capable of undertaking any gainful employment before your Normal Pension Age.
